Tom will bring Agent Zigzag to the big screen - 2007-10-05
Tom Hanks in conjunction with New Line cinema will produce "Agent Zigzag: True Wartime Story of Love and Deception," from Ben Macintyre’s recent book. It is a true story about Edward Arnold Chapman, a career criminal who spied on the Germans for the British in WWII. The film version the book will be produced by Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman.
Tom Hanks is a new member of the Oscar Academy - 2007-08-30
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has selected Tom Hanks as one of its vice presidents. He won Best Actor Oscars for 1993's 'Philadelphia' and 1994's 'Forrest Gump'. Movie industry veteran Sid Ganis has won his third straight term as president. Hanks, who woked a governor of the academy's actors branch, has fnished his directorial debut 'A Wilderness of Monkeys', starring Nia Vardalos. ('My Big Fat Greek Wedding').

Born in Concord, California on July 9, 1956 Thomas J. Hanks was
the third of four children of Amos and Janet Hanks. His parents
divorced when young Tom was 5 years old. His first gained
prominence in the early eighties by landing a co-starring role
in the TV series "Bosom Buddies," where he played a man forced
to dress in drag in order to be able to stay at a women's-only
hotel.
