Tom Hanks is a new member of the Oscar Academy - Aug 30, 2007
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has selected Tom Hanks as one of its vice presidents. He won Best Actor Oscars for 1993's 'Philadelphia' and 1994's 'Forrest Gump'. Movie industry veteran Sid Ganis has won his third straight term as president. Hanks, who woked a governor of the academy's actors branch, has fnished his directorial debut 'A Wilderness of Monkeys', starring Nia Vardalos. ('My Big Fat Greek Wedding').
